This series depicts a very nostalgic place for the artist: "Taman Hiburan Remaja" (Youth Amusement Park) in Surabaya. Unfortunately, the park now only remains in memory after being evicted due to a lack of interest, which now calls for sophisticated digital entertainment. This series was created from two perspectives: as a child immersed in happiness and innocence and as an adult recalling unforgettable moments.
The artist tries to revive these childhood memories through collage compositions filled with objects that invite curiosity. The rides that were once lively and full of laughter are not presented literally. Instead, they are hidden in a surreal composition and covered with transparent walls, framing the visuals to invite the audience to peek into the nostalgic space. In that world, everything feels simple and endearing.
Tentang Seniman:
Izzah adalah seorang grafis desainer sekaligus pelukis asal Surabaya dan menetap di Bandung sejak tahun 2015. Setelah menyelesaikan studi di Fakultas Seni Rupa ITB (Seni Lukis), Izzah bekerja di ranah desain, selain berkarya Ia juga menyalurkan ilmu menggambarnya kepada murid-muridnya lewat les private menggambar.
